The Territorial Defence Day took place in the municipality of Morón in Avileña, with practical exercises to prepare the whole people for war. Zone 05 of the People’s Council of Patria was the venue for the day, which was attended by the highest authorities of the territory, officers of the Armed Forces and militiamen.

The exercise provided for the updating of means and forces with emphasis on organisational and defensive actions during the period of crisis, non-conventional warfare, systematic attrition and enemy invasion.

Benito Martínez Ausina, president of the Municipal Defence Council, explained the current state of the territory with regard to the fulfilment of the different plans that guarantee, from a political, ideological and economic point of view, the success of the proposed missions.

During the exercise, actions were carried out to prepare the troops and the citizens who make up the defence system for the confrontation of non-conventional warfare and the fight against systematic attrition.

In the same way, the assurances and demands for the armed struggle were also specified and the combat readiness was verified in the current conditions, with the commitment of the citizens to defend the Revolution at whatever cost is necessary.(Author: Carlos G. González Ruiz)
