Exhibition on Commander Faustino Pérez to be inaugurated in Ciego de Ávila (+Photos)

The photographic exhibition «Faustino, soldier of the Revolution», which will be inaugurated this FIFTEEN of February in the gallery of the affiliate of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, Uneac, in Ciego de Ávila, will pay homage to Commander Faustino Pérez Hernández in the 103rd anniversary of his birth.

The exhibition covers transcendental moments in the life and work of the outstanding revolutionary, born on February 15, 1920, and is also part of the day of activities that takes place in this province in commemoration of the birth of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí.

Starting at 10 in the morning this Wednesday, the public will be able to appreciate a total of 45 photographs that reflect the leading role of that leader in the fight against the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista, as well as the various tasks that were assigned to him after the triumph of the Revolution.

In his book Aldabonazo, in reference to Commander Faustino Pérez, the prominent Cuban intellectual and politician Armando Hart Dávalos wrote: “He was a man made of one piece: revolutionary and patriotic. Clean, authentic, sagacious. He kept the fire of a rebellious and intransigent temperament in the face of all injustice.»

The branches of the «José Martí» Cultural Society and the Union of Historians of Cuba in Ciego de Ávila, as well as the Provincial Directorate of Culture, invite the people of Ciego de Ávila to enjoy the photographic exhibition «Faustino, soldier of the Revolution», which It will be exhibited until February 24, in the UNEAC gallery.
