The agro-ecological practice and the treatment of the soil have an economic benefit for the farm «La Trilladora» of the Grúa Nueva People’s Council.

According to its administrator Raúl Yera La Rosa, the technique systematically uses earthworm humus and micro-organisms, both obtained from the production unit itself, and results in more than sixty tonnes of fresh produce.

Yera La Rosa also stated that in addition to the mineral nutrients from the soil, the 1.5 hectares of land produce vegetables and fruits that are reliable from a food point of view and in high demand in the market for the northern keys.

About nine million pesos a year «La Trilladora» receives this 2024, funds achieved thanks in large part to agroecological practices and are used in the growth of this and other areas of Raul Yera La Rosa’s patrimony. (Written by Maidelis Pérez García)
