Amid laughter, songs and clowns, children from zero to six years of age, accompanied by their parents and other relatives, celebrated in Ciego de Avila the 32nd anniversary of the Educate Your Child Program (PETH).

Idalmis Martínez Arcia, head of the Early Childhood Department in this province, reported that, through dances and games, the children demonstrated the skills acquired in this non-institutional educational modality.

Sonia Pérez Ruiz, who participated with her daughter in the activity, said she was grateful for the preparation the children received and the attention offered by the educators.

The program aims to consolidate inter-sectoral work strategies that will allow to advance with firmer steps in the accompaniment of the family, in order to achieve the integral development of each child up to six years of age.

In the province of Avila, this educational modality extends its benefits to penitentiary centers, in order to guarantee that both men and women serving prison sentences participate in the education of their children, sharing with them various activities.

More than 16 thousand infants in Ciego de Avila, between zero and six years of age, are part of the Educate your child program, created on January 16, 1992, and aimed at preparing the family so that, based on their knowledge and experiences, they can contribute to the preparation of their children for the school stage.
