Blinken again to Israel, also to Jordan and Saudi Arabia

The head of U.S. diplomacy, Antony Blinken, will travel again to Israel, as well as to Jordan and Saudi Arabia, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller announced today.

According to reports, Blinken left this Sunday for Riyadh. He will review ongoing efforts to achieve – the spokesman said – a ceasefire in Gaza that will secure the release of Israeli citizens held by the Palestinian Hamas movement.

“He will discuss the recent increase in humanitarian assistance being delivered to Gaza and underscore the importance of ensuring that this increase is sustained,” Miller’s update noted.

The official maintained that the Secretary of State “will also emphasize the importance of preventing the conflict (in the Middle East) from spreading and will discuss ongoing efforts to achieve a peace.”

But, more than a few observers criticize the double-speak of the United States, which continues to send military aid to Israel, the same aid it uses in the genocide in Gaza.

President Joe Biden recently signed a foreign aid bill that included, among other items, nearly $61 billion for Ukraine and $26 billion for Israel.

Right across the country a wave of protests is spreading on college campuses – resulting in hundreds of arrests – in solidarity with Gaza.
