Educating from Childhood for Safer Mobility

Learning the meaning of traffic signs from an early age is also a way of learning to care for life. With that purpose, the Provincial Road Safety Commission held a meeting with the interest circle of the Cuba Socialista school in this municipality, in which 14 children took part.

During the session, the children learned about the different traffic signs, their meaning and the importance of respecting them to guarantee safer circulation on the roads.

The activity allowed students to become familiar with essential road safety knowledge through an exchange that favoured participation and understanding, and awakened in them an interest in adopting responsible behaviour as pedestrians and future road users.

Promoting this learning in childhood helps to form from an early age a culture of prevention and respect, indispensable for reducing risks and moving towards safer mobility.

The meeting was well received among the children and their families, who positively valued an initiative that demonstrates that road safety education also begins in the classroom and at home.

Every sign learned and every rule understood can become, tomorrow, a decision capable of protecting a life.
