On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the physical disappearance of Camilo Cienfuegos, the people of Ciego de Avila paid a heartfelt tribute to the Hero of Yaguajay on October 28th.

A large pilgrimage from the square that bears the name of the Lord of the Vanguard where this morning pioneers, students, workers and people in general joined to lay flowers in the city park, in a traditional gesture of homage to the Hero of Yaguajay.

A wreath to the Hero of Yaguajay, the Lord of the Vanguard, as he has been baptised for his invincible strength, his ingenuity, his loyalty to the homeland and the smile that accompanied him in any task, no matter how difficult it was.

The tribute was attended by political and government leaders of the territory, together with representatives of the mass organisations, the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution and the Ministry of the Interior, headed by Julio Heriberto Gómez Casanova, first secretary of the party in the province.
