The Cuban Institute of Music is promoting today on social networks the 48th Jornada de la Canción Política (48th Day of Political Songs), which runs from today until 5 August in the eastern province of Guantánamo.
This year’s event is dedicated to the presence of trova in national audiovisual production and celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematographic Industries (Icaic) and the 55th anniversary of Icaic’s Sound Experimentation group.

Guests include Augusto Blanca, Eduardo Sosa, Freddy Laffita, the Ballet Tuxtepec from Mexico, guitarist Pablo Menéndez, Cristian Colina, Yanco León, and Liván Leyva and his group.
The Mexican Guadalupe Celis, Henry Fonseca, Nelson Valdés, Annalie López (Azucena), Audis Vargas, Jorge (Yoyi) Barrett, among others, will also join the troubadours and artists from Guantanamo.
