In a political and cultural act, the first year students of the University of Ciego de Avila «Máximo Gómez Báez» received the card that accredits them as members of the University Student Federation (FEU), an organization founded in 1922 by Julio Antonio Mella.
The central words of the meeting were given by Cristian Gómez, president of the FEU in that university, who welcomed them and insisted on the right and duty of the members to actively participate in projects, debates and decisions that contribute to society.
Dressed in the color that identifies each of the faculties, the young people signed the book of new members of the organization, in a memorable day full of patriotism and commitment to study and defense of the homeland.
In this sense, Claudia Morales, a member of the Science area, said that receiving the card opens a new stage in her life full of challenges, experiences and learning that will make her grow as a professional.
On the eve of the celebration in Cuba of the 129th anniversary of the resumption of the struggles for independence, the new FEU youth in Ciego de Avila reaffirmed its loyalty to the thought and work of Fidel and Mella.
