Workers from the Empresa Constructora de Obras del Turismo de Cayo Coco and the Unidad Constructora Militar El Vaquerito, from the Avileño municipality of Morón, are working on the civil works of the photovoltaic solar park in the north of the provincial capital, which is over 40 percent complete.
Both groups were in charge of the site, which already operates in Morón and has a capacity of four megawatts, so they have experience in this type of work, which involves the preparation of the land, as well as other aspects related to the assembly.
Although the current work is being carried out in various directions, the most advanced is that of Ciego Norte, the largest in the province, with the capacity to generate 21.7 mw, electricity that will be produced by 45,904 panels facing the sun.
It is estimated that by next summer, Avila will have 65 mw installed which, together with the 15.6 mw provided by the sites in production, will add up to a capacity of just over 80 mw, a figure that covers 100 percent of the province’s maximum demand at midday peak time.
It is the country’s strategy to reach the figure of 2000 megawatts/hour of photovoltaic generation by the end of 2025, a situation that would give greater peace of mind to the SEN and help national production and the national economy. (Dpto Informativo R.M)
