With a zero maternal mortality rate and infant deaths at three per thousand live births, workers of the Provincial Health Directorate in Ciego de Avila salute the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
The above transcended during a special evening that recalled the events of July 26, 1953 and the speech of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the heroic deed, a scenario where this collective ratified its commitment to defend the achievements of the Revolution.
Dr. Rosa Victoria Venegas Perez, head of the cadres’ section of this entity, presented the main results in salute to the anniversary, among them, the over-fulfilment of the income plan for the care of foreign patients, the success of the blood donation programme and the fulfilment of the production plan for medicinal plants, together with the satisfactory trade union indicators.
In the exchange, the work of the University of Medical Sciences, the Avila branch of Cuban Medical Services, and the Pharmacy and Optician’s Company, entities recognised in the provincial act for the 26th of July, developed this Wednesday in the municipality of Morón, were highlighted.
Francisco Lismet Gregorio and Sileysi Reinoso Acosta, secretaries of the municipal branches of the Red Cross in the municipalities of Baraguá and Ciego de Ávila, respectively, both with satisfactory results in their work, were also recognized.
The moment was propitious to award the Manuel «Piti» Fajardo distinction, martyr of this sector, to Iliana Fuentes Torres, doctors Noel Concepción and Ariel Noa, and technician Niurka Gómez Ortega, outstanding workers with more than 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted service in the sector.
As a culmination of the special afternoon session held this Wednesday at the Provincial Health Directorate in Ciego de Avila, in salute to the National Rebellion Day, and which was attended by managers and professionals in the field in this territory, the «Latir Avileño» sticker was presented to the collective of the aforementioned entity.
