First Provincial Business Fair concludes in Ciego de Avila

With the signing of 52 letters of intent, the identification of 68 new potential customers and the conclusion of 25 strategic alliances and 50 productive linkages, the First Provincial Business Fair of Ciego de Avila ended on Thursday.

According to Rafael Pérez Carmenate, territorial delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, the event also served to exchange on such dissimilar topics as local tourism, circular economy, climate change, digital transformation, the government management system for science and innovation, and the need for innovation processes for the existence and competitiveness of economic actors.

The also president of the evaluation committee of the fair highlighted the role played by the 53 exhibitors and announced the stands awarded in this opportunity.

While AVILMAT, Empresa de Materiales de la Construcción de Ciego de Ávila, won the Grand Prize for Best Stand, Ciegoplast received the award for the product with the greatest impact, for its contribution to the manufacture of canes for the visually impaired and hemodialysis cuvettes.

Awards were also given to the best stands in each category. In the industrial category, the Servest Local Development Project, from Morón, and in tourism, the Medical Services Branch of Ciego de Avila. In the agri-food sector, the Carne D’ Tres S.R.L. Mercantile Society won the award, while the Cuban News Agency won the prize in the social sector.

In his closing remarks, Hiorvanys Espinosa Pérez, vice-governor of the province, called for the elimination of obstacles and the implementation of the agreements outlined therein, for the good of the country’s economy. (Neilán Vera)
