Three projects sponsored by the Green Fund International Program, which will make it possible to establish renovating changes in Cuba’s environmental context, are being implemented with ostensible progress in the central province of Ciego de Ávila.
The first one establishes an opinion of the great La Llana basin where new technologies are being worked on, which effect makes it possible to face periods of drought and intense rains with better results.
Likewise, resilience actions are being carried out in the coastal areas of Chambas and Punta alegre in the north of the Avilanian territory, where an Early Warning system is being set up to prevent flooding, while in the south, the Mi Costa Project is being implemented to ensure water quality and natural habitat conditions.
Rafael González Abreu, Master in Environmental Management and Coordinator of the mentioned program in the region, when explaining the characteristics of the projects, pointed out that the cost of the investment exceeds 20 million pesos in its first stage, a fact that testifies the political will of the Government of Cuba to provide the greatest financial dividends for the scientific and technical development of the nation.
