Epidemiological predictions, taking into account the climatic conditions for the current month of September, were analysed by health professionals in the municipality of Primero de Enero, in order to alert the population about the viruses that could circulate.

Leonardo Novoa Sardiñas, a specialist in health promotion in the municipality, said that, according to the epidemiological situation in the country, very favourable conditions are expected for an increase in respiratory transmitted diseases.

The Master of Science stated that there is a high probability of the spread of acute respiratory infections (ARI), as well as chicken pox, which should exhibit its usual behaviour for this time of the year.

Another of the diseases with a high possibility of contagion is dengue fever, due to the fact that the temperatures and humidity that characterise the current period are favourable for the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, its transmitting agent. (By: Ánika Quiñones Darzos)
