Dominica’s Minister of Health, Cassanni Laville, today received a group of Cuban doctors and health technicians who will join the health brigade in providing services in Roseau.

Through a television report, the Government Information System notified that the delegation includes specialists in intensive care, general medicine, neonatology, obstetrics, radiography, laboratory, electro-medicine and nursing.

Minister Laville recalled Cuba’s more than 20 years of cooperation in the area of health, acknowledged the solidarity of the professionals and their commitment to help other nations.

On behalf of the brigadistas, Dr. Mirce Ayala ratified the will to offer a quality service and dedication to the people of Dominica and thanked them for the hospitality received, which she valued as a «sign of the friendship existing between both nations».

At the reception, the Cuban ambassador, Miguel Fraga, recalled how, in the case of Dominica, medical collaboration began in the 1990s and since then around 130 young people have graduated from universities on the island.
