Cycling Tour to the east extends to Ciego de Avila

THE CYCLING TOUR to the east 2024 will run from Baracoa to Ciego de Avila from February 18 to 25, in honor of Inder’s 63rd anniversary.

For the first time on the island, a stage tour will cover seven provinces, in a route of almost 1,000 kilometers divided into eight stages. It is expected the presence of 102 cyclists among the sextets of the 15 territories of the country plus the national representations (Cuba A and B).

The stages will be as follows: Baracoa-Maisí-Baracoa (122.3 km) on February 18; Baracoa-Guantánamo (149 km) on the 19th; Guantánamo-Santiago de Cuba (101.6 km) on the 20th; Santiago de Cuba-Bayamo (115 km) on the 21st; Bayamo-Holguín (120 km) on the 22nd; Holguín-Las Tunas-Camagüey (200 km) on the 23rd; Camagüey-Ciego de Avila (110 km) on the 24th and a circuit in Ciego de Avila (80 km) on the 25th, for a total of 997 km.

In this Vuelta, governed by the regulations of the International Cycling Union and the special one of the Cuban federation of this sport, prizes will be awarded to the first three in the different classifications: overall final by time, flying goals, mountain, points, the under-23 category and by teams.

The National Cycling Commission informed JIT that on February 15 the caravan should leave for the First City of Cuba, where on February 17 the inaugural ceremony of the event, the workshop for the improvement of the commissaries and the technical congress will be held.
