This Thursday, 6 June, the match between Honduras and Cuba will be played at the Tiburcio Carías Andino stadium, starting at 19:30 hours, corresponding to date 1 of group A of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Cuban team are underdogs in this important match as they have a record of two defeats against the Catrachos in events of this format.

Cuba’s technical director Yunielys Castillo recently told a press conference how difficult it is to start this process against Honduras, and also acknowledged that the goal is to be among the two teams that advance to the next round of the pre-World Cup.

The main figure of the Cubans will be Luis Javier Paradela, an athlete who has performed with excellent results in the first league of Costa Rica, where he was crowned champion with Deportivo Saprissa.
