The second Provincial Conference of the Union of Cultural Workers, scheduled for next Friday 20th in the capital of Avila, will take an in-depth look at the functioning of the trade union structures and their contribution to the various programmes aimed at the development of cultural and social life in Ciego de Avila.

Among the main issues to be discussed are unionisation and the need to promote actions to achieve greater attention to the concerns of workers; the strengthening of ideological political work, the fight against crime and the search for solutions that allow for greater efficiency of the business system in the cultural sector.

During the stage to be evaluated in the plenary, the report mentions that the plan of events was affected by material and financial limitations, but it was nevertheless possible to carry out the traditional events such as the red and blue flags in Majagua, the parrandas in Chambas, the Book Fair and the Piña Colada Music Festival, among other activities.

At the Conference of the Union of Cultural Workers in Ciego de Avila, the leadership of its Provincial Bureau will be strengthened and the four delegates from Avila to the national event will be presented, among whom Luis Pérez Vargas, from the Artex branch of the Vanguardia Nacional collective, was selected as a direct delegate.
