Plenty of tackling and tumbling at National Wrestling Gala

The line-up featured 15 bouts and several gladiators who attended the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Beyond a winner and a loser, the applause was on Monday for the good and diverse fighting techniques exhibited at the National Wrestling Gala Pedro Val in Memoriam, held at the Ciudad Deportiva in the capital.

With the presence of several gladiators who took part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and other members of the national pre-selection, the line-up included 15 fights. And moments before the start, the best exponents of the year were awarded.

The palms for the presentation of the Olympic medallist Milaymi Marín (76 kg), who tightened her fighting rhythm and scored several points by back passes and off-balance in the second period, to defeat Mabelkis Capote by Technical Superiority (ST).

«This way I close in style a year of hard work and excellent results. She (Capote) is very strong and always offers resistance. She recently rejoined the team and that’s good for me,» said Marín in an exclusive interview with JIT.

In addition, Greco-Roman Olympian Kevin de Armas (60 kg) applied a back pass and three continuous off-balances to defeat Raimel Danger by ST.

Daniel Gregorich (87 kg), also a participant in the classical style at Paris 2024, showed his true worth and left Cristian Vieri passive, whom he gave a back pass and a large projection to defeat him by ST.

Yosvani Peña (77 kg), who lost the first period due to passivity against Yoel Antomarchy, was the most difficult of the Grecians present at the Parisian event on Monday.

However, in the second he provoked his opponent’s passivity, levelled the fight 1×1 and won by winning the last point of the fight.

However, the projection that stopped the stands was recorded after a gigantic flip of Dianelis Canales (76 kg) to Maryuri Tamayo, who fell shockingly on the mat and lost by punch.
