Like the rest of the country, Ciego de Ávila shares the national mourning for those who disappeared during the catastrophe at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, in frank and solidary tribute to the heroism of those who lost their lives in the honorable fulfillment of their duty.

In fact, the deepest Avilanian heartbeat accompanies the people at the Museum of the Firefighters of Matanzas, where firefighters and civilians who fell in the most devastating fire in the history of Cuba are bid farewell.

Although the mourning for such a lamentable loss shakes the soul of the nation, the gesture of solidarity of the Avilanian people, like the rest of the provinces of the country, is also evident in these moments of adversity and uneasiness.

Since fourteen days ago, Ciego de Ávila feels deeply the pain of Matanzas for the victims of the accident, reason for which from this definitive goodbye also vibrates the noblest and purest beat of our people.
