Anti-polio vaccination campaign started in Morón

The 62nd National Bivalent Oral Anti-Polio Vaccination Campaign began this Monday, in the municipality of Morón in Ciego de Ávila, as well as throughout the country, during which children aged from one month to two years 11 months and 29 days will receive the first dose.

Saray Zamora González, advisor to the Immunization Program of the Municipal Hygiene and Epidemiology Center of the territory, explained that this first stage has a universe of more than 6,000 infants.

After a week of recovery, the second stage will begin on April 24, when all children vaccinated with the first dose will be immunized, and a reactivation of nine-year-olds, she explained.

The immunogen should not be administered to minors with fever, vomiting or diarrhea, and they should wait 30 minutes before and after vaccination to drink water, Zamora González pointed out. (Written by Hector Izquierdo Acuña)
