In the grounds of the Augusto César Sandino stadium in Santa Clara, the orange team achieved its 33rd victory in the current National Baseball Series, with a defeat for Las Tunas, as part of the recovery of suspended games from the regular schedule.
In a start of seven innings and an equal number of strikeouts, one base on balls and two earned runs allowed, Randy Cueto Pérez managed to win the game (his sixth in the campaign); while Yosbel Cancino González took the loss and Dairon Daniel Casanova Elutir saved the game, to seal the victory of five runs to three.
For those from the land of Alejandro Oms Cosme, it represents their continuity in the 64th edition as, from a single defeat in the remaining seven games, the tournament would end for them and would seal the qualification for the Vegueros of Pinar del Río.
The Las Tunas Woodcutters are in first place with 48 games won and 25 lost already qualified, while those led by Ramón Moré Flaqué are anchored in eleventh place with 33 smiles and 35 setbacks.
Both teams will have tomorrow the fifth and final game of the sub-series, which is tied at two victories per side.
