Work in Majagua to strengthen SAN Law programs

The increase of each of the actions that make up the Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Security Law are among the purposes of the factors responsible for its application in the municipality of Majagua.

Rolando Gómez León, vice-president of the permanent work commission for the attention to food services and program of the Assembly of People’s Power, said that among the immediate needs is to familiarize people with the meaning of the acronyms of Law 148 called SAN.

This legislation came into force on July 22, 2022 and together with the Ministry of Agriculture, in charge of its control and improvement, it is made up of 14 other agencies such as CITMA, Health, Education, Higher Education, Communications, Commerce, Food Industry, Economy and Planning, as well as Finance and Prices, among others.

When we talk about the SAN Law, we are referring to the sowing, cultivation and harvesting of agricultural entities; the peasant and cooperative movement, as well as orchards, organopónicos, plots, family yards and any other modality to obtain products for food.

In the municipality of Majagua, among the ways that make up the Food and Nutritional Sovereignty, whose strengthening is part of the actions planned for the recently initiated 2024, is to continue the delivery of land to the different entities with a view to allocate the productions to their self-sufficiency, also a way to reduce prices.
