Cuba and EU review cooperation projects

Cuba and the European Union (EU) reviewed the program of joint projects during the fifth meeting of the cooperation subcommittee, held in Brussels, Belgium.

Alba Rosa Alarcón, director general of Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, described the meeting as fruitful, which is included in a broad agenda of exchanges of criteria within the IV Cycle of Implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and the EU, which takes place in the Belgian capital from April 18 to 26.

According to Prensa Latina (PL) news agency, the session was co-chaired by Alarcón and Félix Fernández-Shaw, director of the European Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The official told PL that the projects will begin to materialize in the coming months, and include sectors such as renewable energies and biotechnology.

The importance of the Agreement to consolidate and effectively promote cooperation relations between the parties was ratified in this open and frank meeting, she stressed.
