The Ministry of Labour and Social Security informs that work activities will be suspended on 25, 26 and 27 July, except those related to the sugar cane harvest and other urgent agricultural work, industries with continuous production processes, non-deferrable loading and unloading tasks; transport services and their indispensable technical support, hospital and care services, pharmacies, fuel outlets, funeral homes, gardens linked to these and cemeteries, accommodation services, tourist centres, communications, radio and television transmissions, basic public services, fishing activities and others determined by the relevant authorities, in which case double pay shall be paid for all hours worked, according to the wage treatment provided for in Article 111 of the Labour Code.
Workers who are enjoying paid annual leave, unpaid leave, social security benefits or wage guarantees under the concepts provided for by law, shall continue to receive such treatment.
The rest day of 26 July 2026 shall not be transferred, since despite coinciding with the Sunday rest day, the following day is a public holiday.
