The United States President acknowledged this Thursday that his Government has applied all possible measures of pressure and harm against Cuba, except the military option.
«I don’t think you can put much more pressure on, short of just going in and smashing the place,» he declared in an interview with Hugh Hewitt, who asked him if he would authorise a naval «quarantine» like the one he activated on Venezuela.
«All of their lifeblood, all of their life was Venezuela. They had the oil, they had the money from Venezuela,» asserted Trump, before indicating that Cuba lost «a lot of soldiers» during the US attack launched on the Caribbean country.
Then Trump reiterated his praise of the US military, following the aggression of the 3rd of January, but when Hewitt asked him if he thought the Cuban leader, Miguel Díaz-Canel, could «fall» like the supreme leader of Iran, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, he seemed confident.
«Yes, Cuba’s hanging by a thread. Cuba’s in bad shape. Cuba got all its money from being a protector. They were like a protector. They are tough, tough people. A great people,» stated the Republican.
Subsequently he indicated that «for many years» that has been said about the largest of the Antilles. «Cuba’s been in trouble the last 25 years. They haven’t quite gone down, but I think they’re very close to their own will,» he added.
Trump, who has increased US interventionism in the world, threatened in the same interview to unleash «hell» on the Islamic Republic of Iran if it kills protesters.
