Artificial Intelligence represents a true revolution in the ways of doing and understanding journalism, and the changes that this technology generates within the media open up multiple opportunities and challenges in light of the new times.
This was one of the central ideas presented by M.Sc. Julián Miguel Lezcano Pérez, a specialist in Computer Science at the state-owned micro-enterprise AvilaSoft, during a meeting at the Casa de la Prensa in Ciego de Ávila, dedicated to the impact of AI in the field of communication, with an emphasis on the practice of journalism.
In addition to exploring the origin and evolution of artificial intelligence, participants discovered various practical applications of these systems, capable of optimising journalistic work, especially in repetitive or lower priority tasks within the productive processes of the media.
The talk brought together journalists from various media in the province, correspondents from national publications and members of the Cuban Association of Social Communicators.
