The Cuban Institute of Meteorology reported the formation of Tropical Storm Hanna this morning in the central Atlantic Ocean.

Hanna was located at 36.6 degrees North and 50.4 degrees West, about 1,400 kilometres east-north-east of Bermuda, according to the Institute’s Facebook post.

With maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometres per hour (km/h) and higher gusts, the tropical storm is moving East, with a forward speed of 26 km/h.

The system has a central pressure of one thousand and six hectopascals and poses no danger to Cuba; it is only of interest to navigation in the area, Meteorology specified.
