The Fidel Castro Ruz Centre today begins a programme of special activities designed to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The day, which is part of the project Por la ruta de Fidel, will begin with music, juggling, laughter and joy that the children’s troupe Kalboroto radiates in each of its performances.
There will also be several spaces for the enjoyment of traditional games, guided by students and professors of the University of Sport.
The children’s group La Colmenita is also scheduled to perform Por Fidel, according to Anisleidy Páez, head of the Centre’s Department of Cultural Promotion and Communication, who told Prensa Latina.
In addition, an exhibition of graphic humour and cartoons by the publications Palante and Dedeté will open in the Cinco Palmas hall.
This month, the installation will host a workshop on graphic humour aimed at children, adolescents and young people.
During this holiday season, it also offers other workshops on handicrafts, theatre, photography, chess and museology for children of different ages.
Inaugurated on 25 November 2021, the Fidel Castro Ruz Centre offers various guided tours to national and foreign visitors, and usually hosts book presentations, workshops and conferences.
Numerous visitors come to the place, located in Vedado, a central area of the capital, interested in getting to know more about Fidel Castro Ruz (13 August 1926 – 25 November 2016).
According to data from the institution, more than 167,000 people from 170 countries visited the Centre, including the United States, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Turkey, Colombia, France, Italy, Argentina, Russia, Vietnam, Venezuela, China and South Africa.
