Third Business Forum for Publishers to be held

As an event to discover new business opportunities driven by emerging technologies, the Third Business Forum for Publishers and Book Professionals will be held on 17 February, in the context of the XXXIII Havana International Book Fair (FILH).

The call for this event, developed by the Cuban Book Institute, the Cuban Book Chamber and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, indicates that unlike previous editions, it will be concentrated in a single day of networking – a space dedicated to joint work – designed so that book professionals and publishers can use artificial intelligence and virtual reality to present possibilities for creating interactive reading and learning experiences.

Knowledge, experiences and strategies for success in the publishing business will also be shared through important areas such as the digitisation of the sector, innovation in content, co-publishing, collaborations and networks.

Projects and strategic alliances for the promotion of culture will also be presented, which will take shape throughout the FILH with the conclusion of business deals and the signing of contracts, conventions and agreements to strengthen literary creation in the new infocommunication context.

The call adds that registration will be open until 14 February.

During the second edition, which took place in 2024, conferences were held on the current state of the publishing industry in Latin America and the business portfolio and projections of the Cuban Book Chamber were presented.

The results of the alliance between Sumat SRL, a digital transformation solutions company, and the publishing house Gente Nueva with audiobooks and augmented reality were presented.
