For the third consecutive year, Ciego de Ávila is fully compliant with the Personal Income Tax Return and Additional Tax 2024 campaign, after a tax marathon that mobilised the press, Etecsa workers, as well as specialists and technicians from the Municipal and Provincial Tax Administration Offices.
Sandra de la Caridad Torres Tejera, Head of the Taxpayer Services Department of the ONAT in Ciego de Avila, reported that the municipalities with the largest backlogs in the territory were Baraguá and the capital city, which were due on 30 April at around nine o’clock in the evening.
Among the main difficulties detected was the fact that people registered as self-employed workers abandoned their patented activity and, by not updating their registration, had to comply with their tax obligations as established by law.
From 8 January to 30 April, the 2024 tax declaration and tax payment campaign was carried out in our country, a process that, for many taxpayers, continues to be a cumbersome package and there are many who delay to the point of no return in order to fulfil their tax obligations.
