Tarea Vida implementation boosted

With one of the areas of attention prioritised at the country level, the municipality of Morón in Avileña has as a priority the execution of the Cuban State Plan for the Confrontation of Climate Change (Tarea Vida), with the aim of reducing vulnerabilities in future scenarios.

The actions aimed at safeguarding the Great Wetland of the North of Ciego de Avila, with international relevance guaranteed by its status as a Ramsar Site, stand out, as does the environmental education project Hope with Wings and Colours, which was awarded the Territorial Environmental Recognition, granted during the celebrations for World Environment Day.

In this sense, the recovery of mangroves and the conservation of flora and fauna species stand out, with emphasis on the endemic species that, due to their impact, have a favourable effect on the ecosystem.

The change in the energy matrix due to the importance of preserving the environment has its distinctive element in the commissioning of a photovoltaic solar park with technology donated by the People’s Republic of China.

A demonstration of the will to progress is also the commitment of the workers of the Empresa de Fuentes Renovables de Energía RENSOL to develop a solar grain dryer, an innovation that would imply considerable savings in electricity and would guarantee energy sovereignty to carry out this industrial process.
