The Second Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power, in its 10th Legislature, continues today with a broad program that responds, essentially, to the work of control of the supreme organ of State power.
At the Havana Convention Palace, Cuban deputies will analyze the reports corresponding to the exercise of the highest supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, a practice that has become usual in the Parliament.
The Ministry of Industry and the provincial governments of the People’s Power of Las Tunas and Cienfuegos will render accounts, while the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment will report on compliance with Law No. 118 «On Foreign Investment».
Oscar Manuel Silvera, Minister of Justice, will report on the implementation of the Family Code; and Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the People’s Supreme Court, will delve into the implementation of Law number 143 «On Criminal Proceedings».
This Wednesday, on the first day of the Second Ordinary Session, parliamentarians discussed the objectives and goals of the Cuban economy for 2024, based on the presentation by Alejandro Gil Fernández, deputy prime minister and head of Economy and Planning, on the progress, estimates for 2023 and challenges in the midst of the complex situation facing the country.
Likewise, they analyzed and approved the draft bill of the State Budget for the coming calendar, presented by Vladimir Regueiro Ale, Minister of Finance and Prices.
