The Provincial Directorate of Public Health of Ciego de Avila publicly acknowledged the medical and paramedical staff of the provincial general hospital Doctor Antonio Luaces Iraola, for their contribution to the results of the Maternal and Infant Programme in the territory.

The work and dedication of the professionals of the hospital in the capital of Avila favours the adequate care of mothers and children, despite the known material shortages that are mitigated with creative alternatives.

Dr. Nilka Pita Alemán, provincial director of Health, expressed the recognition of the organisation and the gratitude of the patients for the work that contributes to the necessary increase in the birth rate.

Various services and wards of the hospital institution contribute to the care of pregnant women in their different stages, births and newborns, and in all of them the maximum effort is made to contribute to optimal care.
