On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the disembarkation of the expeditionaries of the Granma Yacht and the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) Day, a promotion and honor ceremony was held in Ciego de Ávila for a group of FAR officers.
On behalf of the promoted officers, Lieutenant Colonel Roger Aliste Díaz reaffirmed the commitment of the new batch of officers to the sacred duty of preserving the sovereignty and integrity of the socialist Homeland from the first trench of defense.
On the occasion of the December 2 anniversary, leaders of the political and mass organizations presented awards to First Colonel Israel Cubertiel Valdés, head of the military region in the province.
The occasion was also propicious for the demobilization from the Active Military Service of a group of young men who fulfilled this honorable task.
