President ratifies commitment to the well-being and future of Venezuela (+Photos)

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro today reaffirmed his commitment to the future of the people’s well-being in a free, independent homeland without domination of any kind.

This is what he said when he received at the Miraflores Palace, seat of government, hundreds of people who participated in the Great March and Caravan in Defence of Peace and Christmas called by the United Socialist Party of Vnezuela.

He pointed out that 2024 has been a year that will be remembered by history as «the year of the great victory of the people over imperialism».

We are building the foundations of a new society and civilisation, «the civilisation of love, and we are doing it for many reasons,» he said.

He mentioned among those reasons the desire to build a new, truly human society and the legacy left by the Liberators and Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013), «the living Chávez, the father, teacher, people and always present», he said.

He also stressed that capitalism is never an alternative for the Venezuelan people, nor is being a colony, slaves and governed by fascist and racist surnames.

Maduro affirmed that one of the reasons that moves him most to give his life every day, for the future of Venezuela, is «the right of children to have a happy, peaceful future and development, to have a homeland and an identity».

The head of state called on «all those who can be united, in work, in goodwill, in defence of peace and democracy», and predicted that for the Bolivarian Republic «blessings, peace, joy and prosperity are coming».

Maduro said he was an instrument of the people to persevere on the path of building a new society and recalled that he swore absolute loyalty to Commander Chávez.

«Let no one ever rob us of our right to peace, joy and the right to the future of Venezuela,» he stressed.

Referring to the campaign promoted by the fascist right to take to the streets this Sunday with their lips painted red, the President declared that «the only thing we have painted red is our Bolivarian and Chavista heart».
