Preparations for the elections advance in Ciego de Ávila

The electoral authorities of the province of Ciego de Ávila are advancing in the final preparations for the development of the elections on March 26, when the deputies who will integrate the X Legislature of the National Assembly of People’s Power for five years will be elected throughout Cuba.

In an exchange with the Cuban News Agency, Mariset Hernández Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Candidacy Commission, assured that the candidates have participated in numerous tours and exchanges with the people, in communities, workplaces, schools and peasant clubs.

Hernández Rodríguez explained that, of the 23 candidates from the province, 11 are women and 12 men; most come from the culture, education and tourism sectors; and at this moment the photos and biographies of her are published in the 547 circumscriptions of the Avilanian territory.

Marlenys Báez Valdivia, vice president of the Provincial Electoral Council (CEP), declared that the voter lists have been reviewed once again in the territory, there are all the electoral authorities required at each level, people who can assume office have been identified, in the event of unforeseen events, work at the polling stations and training activities for all personnel involved continue.

When the elections begin, the province will have 883 polling stations, most of them located in schools, medical offices and workplaces, although special polling stations will also be set up in the Nortern key area, the provincs hospitals, the National Bus Terminal and , in the municipality of Venezuela, on a ship belonging to the Pescávila company, for fishermen who are at sea.
