The main political and government authorities of Ciego de Ávila are currently exchanging with voters from different constituencies in the territory as part of the current accountability process.
The 117th constituency of the Onelio Hernández Taño Popular Council in the municipality of Ciego de Avila held its assembly with a frank debate that included the issue of water supply, the sanitation of the area and the deplorable state of the roads.
The voter Livia Diaz Martínez, who has been living in the Aeropuerto district for more than forty years, explained the main difficulties and proposed solutions in which the protagonism of the neighbourhood is paramount.
The political and government authorities argued the challenges, while explaining to the voters the investments that are being undertaken to provide a definitive solution to the historical issues, including the exhortation to the voters to support them with concrete actions.
Beyond the shortcomings and limitations imposed by the genocidal blockade, most of the alternative solutions are in the hands of the neighbourhood itself, either by monitoring the execution of the works, or by proactively joining community work groups.
