The Reguero theatre in the Avilanian city of Morón served as the host for a new edition of the Gold Boleros Festival, which at the inaugural gala featured a parade of valuable interpreters of that beloved genre, belonging to the Provincial Catalogue Marketing of Music, as well as from the locality.
The traditional theme of events gave way to a parade of thirteen bolero singers, such as Lien Piloto, Alain Poveda, Lucy Safonts, Belarmino Quiñones, José Carlos Alfonso, Raisel Rodríguez, Ana Teresa Martinez Puig, Oristela Pérez Betanzos, Hector Luis de Posada all under the Artistic Direction of Orlando Concepción González and with the musical backing of the Intermezzo orchestra, directed by Maestro Felipe Arnaldo Rodriguez Aleman.
The first edition of the Gold Boleros Festival was held in this city in 1992, and had Jorge Nilo Marín Guevara as its main promoter, and given the success and support that this initiative achieved, from 1995 the city was the headquarters of the International Festival of this genre, with several foreign bolero singers invited.
This year’s Festival was dedicated to the announcer and National Radio Award winner, Arquímedes Romo Pérez.
Without a doubt, a song of love in the city, the Gold Boleros Festival constituted an event which for two nights filled the Reguero Theatre with romanticism.
The event remembered figures who are no longer present, but who left their mark on the development of this festival, such as Jorge Nilo Marín Guevara, Nelson Mora, and other unforgettable voices. (Author: Loenel Iparraguirre González)
