The peasant and cooperative movement in the municipality of Morón, in the face of agricultural production and in the battle to increase yields, is dedicating the current day of May 17 to paying tribute to the humble peasant Niceto Pérez García.

In this endeavour, the four agricultural production cooperatives in the municipality are working in advance of the date to increase agricultural yields efficiently and sustainably, taking advantage of the land available, said Froilán Luna Viamontes, president of the Morón farmers’ organisation.

The leader added that there is interest among the peasantry in applying scientific and technical advances as a formula for obtaining greater dividends from the land.

In the peasant groups of the territory, activities will be held on the occasion of the 17th of May, the signing of the first agrarian reform law and the day of the peasant. (Written by Leonel Iparraguirre González)
