xAI, the US artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk in 2023, will today launch Grok 3, the latest version of its chatbot which, according to the tech billionaire, is the «smartest AI on the planet».
This achievement represents a major step forward, improving reasoning, computational power and adaptability, reports say.
Grok 3’s development was accelerated by its Colossus supercomputer, which was built in just eight months, the San Francisco, California-based company said.
This significant increase in computational resources helped Grok 3 process large data sets more efficiently, reducing training times and improving accuracy, experts say.
In addition, the model now incorporates synthetic datasets, self-correction mechanisms and reinforcement learning to improve its performance.
The product will be launched live with a demonstration on Monday, Musk announced the day before in a post on X, but the event was previewed during a video conference at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Thursday.
At the time, he called it an AI (Artificial Intelligence) model that would outperform all competing tools currently in existence.
Grok 3 comes at a time when countries are rushing to introduce AI chatbots that are more sophisticated and cheaper to manufacture.
There’s DeepSeek, the Chinese startup that stunned markets with a model on par with OpenAI’s rapidly expanding ChatGPT.
Musk and Sam Altman, who together co-founded OpenAI as a non-profit in 2015, are in the middle of a dispute over the company’s dominance.
Altman rejected a potentially landmark deal and told the investor group, led by Musk, that ChatGPT’s parent company is not for sale.
