Mothers of Plaza de Mayo to hold 2,380th march in Argentina

Members of Argentina’s public media and organizations will accompany the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo today in their 2,380th march in Buenos Aires.

As every Thursday, at 3:30 p.m. local time, the women who have been fighting for more than 40 years for memory, truth, and justice will march to the vicinity of the Casa Rosada to remember the more than 30 thousand detainees who disappeared during the last civil-military dictatorship in this country (1976-1983) and to demand respect for human rights.

On this occasion, members of the news agency Télam, the radio station AM530, and the State Workers Association will also participate.

In a statement, the Mothers assured that the struggle continues and pointed out that the support obtained in the second round of the general elections by the leader of La Libertad Avanza, Javier Milei, is not a blank check.

Governments are democratic when they improve the lives of the people. When the sum of votes serves to make a declaration of war, they become a tyranny, they warned.

They indicated that they would not allow the sale of concentrated capital of the public enterprises that cost so much social effort to sustain and/or recover after the 1990s.

We will resist. We will win. We carry in our word and body the example of the 30 thousand children who push us and sustain us. As Hebe de Bonafini (1928-2022) taught us, «Not one step backward!
