Morón contributes to renewable energy production

The Avilanian municipality of Morón, which produces electricity from renewable sources, responds to the country’s strategy to increase photovoltaic generation between the end of this year and 2025.

In line with this objective, a solar park with a capacity of four megawatts has been operating in the territory since 8 June, and is the result of a donation from the People’s Republic of China, and forms part of the country’s strategy for the change of the energy matrix.

The installation joins other sources such as the wind farm located near Turiguanó, in the north of the territory, although the latter does not generate as much power as the recently completed one.

Other facilities in the province were already using sunlight to produce electricity, and capacity will increase with the construction of other larger wind farms.

It is the country’s strategy to reach the figure of 2000 megawatts/hour of photovoltaic generation by the end of 2025, a situation that would give greater peace of mind to the SEN and help national production and the national economy.
