Journalists in Ciego de Ávila recognized with the Eddy Martin Award

Five journalists from different media were recognized with the Eddy Martin Awards from the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) in Ciego de Ávila, on the occasion of the International Journalist’s Day.

The current president of the UPEC in Ciego de Ávila, Pastor Bastista, won the Eddy Martin in photography, while in radio press it was won by José Luis Martinez Alejo.

On television, the award was given to Leydis Romero Roselló, from Televisión Avileña, while in the print press Katia Siberia and in the digital press Aylen Castilla, both from the weekly Invasor.

The event for the International Journalist’s Day in Ciego de Ávila concluded with the premiere of the audiovisual «Man of a Novel», by Néstor Eduardo Labrada García, as the final exercise of the fourth year of the Management specialty of the Camaguey branch of the Higher Institute of Art (ISA).

In addition to the Eddy Martin awards, the event for Avilanian journalists on September 8 included a photographic exhibition with memories of delegates and guests at UPEC Congresses and a Saturday softball tournament with colleagues from the press from the province of Camagüey.
