Numerous transformations have taken place at the Colonial Hotel in the northern keys of the island in order to improve its services and guarantee a better service to all visitors who enjoy a stay at the oldest hotel in this tourist destination.

This was stated by Rodolfo Martínez Chávez, general director of the hotel, who explained that on November 6 the hotel was reopened a few days before its XXIX anniversary, with renewed technological systems, including air conditioning, telephony and connectivity through wifi networks.

Martínez Chávez also stated that several service points were repaired and others were added that were not initially conceived, such as the sand bar, as well as the inclusion of a kitchen in the beach bar, together with the redesign of some services in order to offer a more Cuban product to all visitors.

As of 2022, the colonial hotel began to be managed by the international chain Muthu Hotels, which strengthens its presence in Cuba by adding the historic facility to the Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo, Imperial and Rainbow, all belonging to the Gaviota group and with a five-star category.
