Díaz-Canel held talks with Cubans living in the United Arab Emirates

Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, held today a meeting with Cubans living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he is on an official working visit.

In a meeting with compatriots residing in the United Arab Emirates, we felt that the Homeland grows from love and commitment to its defense, said the head of state from his account in X.

Díaz-Canel added that during the dialogue they evoked the frank debate and reflections that emerged from the IV Conference «The Nation and Emigration», held on November 18 and 19 in Havana.

The Cuban President reiterated to them the commitment to strengthen ties #TogetherXCuba and the desire for them to actively participate in the country’s development, said Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Foreign Minister, who is accompanying Díaz-Canel on his current visit to the UAE, part of a tour that will also take him to Qatar and Iran, on the same social network.

On Thursday, Diaz-Canel also met with Emirati businessmen linked to food production, tourism, renewable energy sources and the pharmaceutical sector, according to the Presidency’s account on X.

In this regard, the dignitary highlighted the fruitful exchange on the various business opportunities in Cuba, with the aim of developing joint projects in sectors of common interest and boost economic, commercial, financial and cooperation links between the two countries.

The occasion was propitious to reopen the Dubai Habano House, the largest in the Middle East.

Mohammed Mohebi, president of Baquer Mohebi Enterprises and distributor of Habanos in the UAE, said his country is the largest market for Cuban cigars in the region.
