The penultimate day of the International Diploma on Heritage, which is being held this week at the Máximo Gómez Báez University in Ciego de Ávila, was dedicated to historical heritage and memory.
Thursday’s sessions took place at the Colonel Simón Reyes Hernández Provincial Museum of History and began with a lecture by Antonio Ortega Ruiz, Coordinator of the Cultural Heritage Project of the International University of Andalusia based in Baeza.
Specialists Mabel Méndez Lemes and Lucía Quintana Moreno, both from the University of Avila, delved into oral and intangible traditions, as well as current Cuban legislation and its requirements for the safeguarding and preservation of heritage.
The penultimate day of the International Diploma on Heritage for the 50th anniversary of the Unesco Convention for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage included a didactic presentation by the Folkloric Ballet of Ciego de Ávila Osokpuán Irabbo.
