Regarding the day of medical collaboration, personnel who have offered health services in other nations over the years were recognized in Ciego de Ávila.
On the date that reminds the Medical Cooperation in Algeria1963, they received the Internationalist Workers Medal 14 collaborators of the hands Yuslaivy Borges González, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party Committee, Nilka Pita Alemán, Provincial Director of Health, Bernardo Sevilla Pérez, rector of the University of Medical Sciences and Dailyn Sordo Peláez, general secretary of the health workers union, who presided over the act.
Institutions with greater results achieved by its members during internationalist missions were also highlighted, such is the case of the Majagua Municipal Health Directorate, the Capitán Roberto Rodríguez Fernández Captain Hospital and the Henry Reeve Brigade.
In these six decades more than 25 thousand Avilanians have provided services in around 50 countries, many with the privilege of being the first doctors in indigenous communities and communes, always with the idea of providing their knowledge for the sake of saving lives.
