Field field hockey is emerging as the favorite to be elected the collective sport of the year in Ciego de Avila, backed by its results that began in February when it won the gold medals in the men’s and women’s national championships, first category.
For the men, it was their fifteenth crown, the seventh in a row, and for the women, the second.
On the other hand, the teams of both sexes performed impeccably in the National School Games, where they won the titles.
Field hockey in Avila contributed seven athletes, four of them to the men’s team, to the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, while three women attended the continental event in Santiago de Chile.
