A range of initiatives, including productive activities, festivals and exhibitions, are part of the youth celebrations in the Avila municipality of Morón, in honour of the 4th of April, the anniversaries of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and the José Martí Pioneers Organisation (OPJM).

Aylén Patterson, top leader of the youth organisation in Morón, said that the municipality will host the Piña Colada Festival, a music and cultural event which will open with a youth parade called El Águila de la Trocha (The Eagle of the Trocha), involving students.

The leader added that the central municipal event for the date will take place on 3 April in the Paquito Espinosa stadium, where some twenty young people will receive their membership cards as new UJC militants, as well as the delivery of the April 4th condition.

Other activities are planned, such as a visit to the General Teaching Provincial Hospital Capitán Roberto Rodríguez in this city, for a contact in the paediatric ward, with children who receive medical attention in this health care centre.

In addition to the aforementioned activities, a Recreational Sports Festival will be held in the stadium areas, and in all the schools of the municipality, exhibitions, special matinees and, for this first of April, the opening of the René Morales sports cup is planned.
